How we handle your data.

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how C2S4 LLC ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your information when you use the WeiiGo app and website. WeiiGo is a travel-safety app, so some of the data we handle is sensitive (such as your location and the emergency contacts you choose). We aim to collect only what we need to provide the service. This document should be reviewed by legal counsel before publication.

Data we collect

  • Account data: your name, email address and either a password (stored securely, hashed) or a Sign in with Apple / Google identifier. You may optionally provide a phone number and your primary nationality (used to find your nearest embassy).
  • Emergency & connected contacts: when you add a trusted contact, we store the name, phone number and/or email address you provide for that person, the relationship label, and your chosen alert preferences. See Emergency contacts you add.
  • Location data: precise GPS location when you use location-dependent features such as SOS, location sharing, check-ins and maps — only with your permission. See Location data.
  • Safety / SOS data: SOS triggers, the alert messages you send, and — if you choose to record one — encrypted SOS audio recordings.
  • Trip data: itineraries, saved places, travel dates and preferences you create in the app. Some of this is processed by an AI service to generate plans — see AI itinerary features.
  • Messaging data: the phone numbers, email addresses and message content used to deliver SMS, WhatsApp and email safety alerts on your behalf.
  • Device & usage data: basic technical information needed to run and improve the service, including push-notification tokens (Apple APNs / Google FCM) so we can deliver alerts to your devices.

How we use your data

  • To provide and operate WeiiGo (planning, transit, maps and safety features).
  • To deliver safety and SOS alerts you initiate to the emergency contacts you have added, via in-app notification, SMS, WhatsApp and email.
  • To communicate with you about your account (e.g. email verification, password reset).
  • To maintain security and prevent abuse.
  • To understand and improve the product (privacy-friendly analytics, see below).

Messaging & SMS safety alerts

WeiiGo can send SMS and WhatsApp messages on your behalf. We send them only to emergency contacts that you have added and who have accepted your invitation, and only for safety and SOS purposes — for example an alert with your location when you trigger an SOS, or an "I'm safe" follow-up. We do not send marketing text messages.

  • Consent: a person only receives messages after they accept an invitation to become your connected contact. Until they accept, no messages are sent to their number.
  • Frequency: message frequency varies and is initiated by you; we do not send recurring or scheduled marketing messages.
  • Rates: message and data rates may apply, depending on the recipient's mobile carrier and plan.
  • Opt-out: recipients can reply STOP to opt out of SMS at any time, or reply HELP for help; a contact can also be removed in the app.
  • No sharing for marketing: we do not share mobile opt-in or consent information with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.

Emergency contacts you add

When you add someone as an emergency or connected contact, you provide us with their name and contact details so we can deliver your safety alerts. You should only add people who have agreed to be your emergency contact. The person you invite must accept the invitation before they receive any alerts, and they can withdraw at any time. If you believe you were added as a contact without your consent, contact us using the details below and we will remove the data.

Location data

We access your device location only when you use a feature that needs it — such as triggering an SOS, sharing your live location or a dropped pin with a contact, checking in, or viewing nearby places — and only with the permission you grant your device. Location included in an SOS or share is sent to the contacts you have chosen. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.

AI itinerary features

When you generate or refine a trip, the itinerary inputs you provide (such as destination, dates and preferences) are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to produce the plan. This data is processed under the provider's terms and is not used to train their models. We do not send your emergency-contact details or SOS data to the AI provider.

Sharing & third parties

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers (processors) that help us run WeiiGo, under appropriate agreements, or where required by law. These currently include:

  • Twilio — SMS and WhatsApp message delivery.
  • SendGrid (Twilio) — transactional and alert email delivery.
  • Microsoft Azure — cloud hosting, data storage and push-notification delivery.
  • Apple & Google — Sign in with Apple / Google, push notifications, and maps / places data.
  • Anthropic — AI generation of trip itineraries (see above).
  • RevenueCat — management of in-app subscriptions.
  • OpenWeatherMap and ExchangeRate-API — weather and currency information.
  • New Relic — application monitoring and diagnostics.

Cookies & analytics

The website uses a single strictly-necessary cookie to keep you signed in. Where analytics is enabled, we use privacy-friendly analytics that load only after you accept the cookie banner. You can decline without affecting core functionality, and change your mind by clearing cookies.

Data retention

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. Some specific cases:

  • SOS audio recordings are encrypted at rest and are automatically deleted 90 days after they are created.
  • Shared location links expire automatically and are purged after expiry.
  • When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data except where we are required to retain it by law.

International transfers

Some of our processors operate outside your country (for example in the United States or the European Union). Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards offered by those providers and applicable data-transfer mechanisms.

Children

WeiiGo is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age required by your jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise them, contact us using the details below. You can also remove connected contacts, revoke permissions and delete your account from within the app.
